Comparative Response of the Hepatic Transcriptomes of Domesticated and Wild Turkey to Aflatoxin B1
UL https://suche.suub.uni-bremen.de/peid=base-ftmdpi:oai:mdpi.com:_2072-6651_10_1_42_&Exemplar=1&LAN=DE A1 Kent Reed A1 Kristelle Mendoza A1 Juan Abrahante A1 Roger Coulombe PB Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute YR 2018 K1 aflatoxin B 1 K1 domesticated turkey K1 wild turkey K1 liver K1 RNA-seq K1 differential expression K1 Key Contribution K1 Results of this study support the hypothesis that the greater ability of wild turkeys to detoxify AFB 1 is related to higher constitutive expression of GSTA3 coupled with an inherited (genetic) difference in functional expression in domesticated birds. Key differences in GSTA3 expression between the Eastern wild and domesticated turkeys is not unique to these genetic lines but is a broader phenomenon indicating lower fitness in domesticated birds. Results of RNA-seq analysis emphasize the differential response of these genetically distinct birds K1 demonstrating significant differences in expression of Phase I and Phase II genes and in genes important in toxic response JF Mycotoxins LK http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.3390/toxins10010042 DO https://doi.org/10.3390/toxins10010042 SF ELIB - SuUB Bremen
